Korn Guitarist Finds God and Quits Band

CMU reports that one of Korn's guitarist is leaving the band for more spiritual pursuits. They report:

Elsewhere in band split news, Brian 'head' Welch, guitarist with hard rockers Korn, has confirmed he has quit the band, citing a recent religious awakening and desire for "happiness" as his reason for leaving the band. Speaking to Californian radio station KRAB-FM, Welch said: "I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you. I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me." Referring to the aggressive tone of Korn's music, he continued: "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans." He added that he would be appearing at his local church this Sunday where he would "speak [about] how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."

On their official website the rest of the band said they respected Welch's decision and hoped that "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group, currently without a recording contract having fulfilled their commitments to Sony label Epic last year, are still working on their next studio album - no replacement for Welch has as yet been named.

Maybe Welch feels guilty for taking the gag of rap-metal as started by Anthrax way the hell too far.

I was never really a Korn fan, although i remember seeing the guys in a ##### once. I knew they were dark the minute i heard fall from grace. I wanted to share that i recently sold out to Jesus Christ, but not long after i was scre#ing this girl and the song came on. I ran soon afterwards after feeling totally convicted by hearing the words. Bryan said that God will use what ever means are necasseary to speak to us. I was a hopelss and desparate sex addict and the Lord set me free!!Keep givin the glory to God Bryan!! Hope to hear some Holy Spirit inspired "head" rock!!

Agreed, we will all miss head. some more than others, no doubt.

It's too bad really. How often have you longed for Head and it was there for you. Now, seems the world has gone pear-shaped; Christian Morality has replaced good old fashioned Head.

I for one will miss Head, and will never fogive the lord for this.

Hi there, I was just searching the net about Brian ause I heard this on CBN.
I thought it was so awesome to hear about his encouter with God and now following the Lord.

I also follow the Lord. I rededicated my life to Him about 2 years ago.
After hitting rock bottom in my life and Marriag.
For a while there all I cared about was drugs, clubs, rave scenes, sex, and parties.
I am so thankful now that I have the Lord in my lfie.
I use to be the one trying anything new. I loved coke, X, acid, loved it all but nothing at all compares to living a life with Jesus. He is the all time high.

I hope more and more people coem to know the Lord through Brian's Salvation. It is so awesome to hear of a SECULAR BANDS COMING OT KNOW THE LORD: U2 is one of them I just found out are Christians, also I heard that R Kelly is now a Christian and is singing Christian music, I heard one song it was awesome.
    Praise God.
Any comments to anything I said you can email me :)
