Korn Artist of the Month on Music Choice

Part of: Featured Artist

October at Music Choice (MC) has been dubbed Rocktober and in a month long celebration dedicated to hard rock, Music Choice will be featuring artists like Paramore, Plain White T’s, Killswitch Engage and The Clash. Who better for MC to choose then, as their Artist of the Month (AOM) than those kings of nu-metal Korn. Korn formed in 1993 when former members of L.A.P.D. (Reginald Arvizu, Brian Welch, James Shaffer, and David Silveria) asked Jonathan Davis to join them as frontman. On the advice of his psychic Davis agreed and Korn began to grow.

They released their self-titled debut album in 1994 after signing to Immortal/Epic Records and it is now considered to be one of the most influential nu-metal albums of all time. Korn has sold more than three million copies world wide. Most recently the band released their eighth studio album and with typical Korn quirkiness they decided to release it untitled. Since those early days, Korn have built a solid reputation as one of the most innovative and groundbreaking artists of the genre and are, many will argue, the reason nu-metal is as popular as it is today.

As part of their Artist of the Month feature Korn will talk candidly about the changes that have affected the band in the past few years. They will also share with fans their positive plans for the future in the Korn – Starting Over Again feature. And in the feature, Korn Takes NYC fans get to live a day in the life of Korn from morning – waking up in a hotel room – to night – performing at a gig – and everything in between. Of course as with all of MC’s AOM features the band will do an unscripted, uncut, Q&A with fans as well as walk you through all the videos in their 13 year career as Korn. And Blogcritics is excited to be able to bring you an exclusive clip of Korn in action.
