Kimmy and Klassé are the exquisite voices of Kimmy Kearse, Johnita Wilson-Dillard and Levondra Attidore. On their new album The Love of Music, they take the listener through a range of vocal exercises reminiscent of latter day divas such as Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

With the roots of gospel, rhythm and blues, pop, and soul burning a fire so bright within them, getting behind each song with everything they have with heart seems so natural. Their music finds the necessary inspiration and affection within their souls, and it lives so strongly within these three women that it seems like it is a matter of course for them to strut their stuff with the passionate and well-timed deliveries everywhere on this recording. Anyone can relate to the lyrics presented on this CD, and sometimes they sing for their own sex in particular, which I found entertaining.

It is all so wonderful and joyous that you cannot help cracking a smile and jumping to your feet to dance a few steps just because it feels so good. These women now how to get across a tune whether they are plumb "Crazy," singing about their "Funny Valentine" or discussing a "Chain of Fools." While life can be so serious this trio has a way of taking any situation and injection some humor and tenderness into it to give you hope. It must be all of that wholesome down home gospel music that laid the foundation for them to build such an invincible fortress of music. Anyone with blood pumping through their veins would perk up and pay attention to the groove these ladies lay down.

I love the way they close out the album with a good shot of patriotism by singing their own funky and emotionally charged up version of "America The Beautiful," I absolutely loved it, it truly touched my soul. This funky soulful treat would take the gravest and unhappiest attitude and turn it around. The do it all for the love of the music, how could they lose?
