And Good Charlotte is hardly Napalm Death

What's wrong with a little diversity? Napalm Death is hardly good too.

As far as pop-punk bands good, Good Charlotte isn't horrible.

For the most part I like pop punk: high energy, good tunes, singalong choruses - nothing wrong with Good Charlotte at all as far as I'm concerned.

i like pop/punk too (though what's with the fake english accent thing?)...and i'm all for musical diversity.

i just thought the Kerrang was mostly metal...i guess things have changed...i haven't read the thing in years.

I believe they are simply "rock" now, incorporating punk and any hard-edged stuff at all - doesn't pay to be too narrow.

i wish they'd bring Creem back.

but Lester Bangs is gone, so i supposed it'd be pointless.

They are widely known as "Kerrap" these days. The bought into the "nu-metal" thing alot and basically rejected anything prior to 93 as crap. It is ironic they are touting The Darkness, who are old school OTT camp hard rock/metal, something that Kerrang! has been taking the piss out of for years. The good "rock" mag in the UK is Classic Rock which you can get at Borders in the US.

    I like cheese.

Well done to the Kerrang winners. A shame about the magazine itself.
