I love Keane's album. I love the fact that they can rock without guitars. So, I thought I would try it live at The Granada in Lawrence, KS. First off, I have to say that the lead singer's voice is beautiful. I think one of my friends actually had tears in his eyes at one point. All in all, the concert was amazing, but not perfect (not really possible). My biggest complaint was that every song sounded exactly the same as on the album. Not one note or drum beat was strayed from the original recordings, which gets predictably boring. I love random ventures away from the original melodies at live concerts. The second complaint, and only because I'm not female, was the lead singer's akward girations, mic grabs, and jumping into head bowed hunches just inches from screaming ladies. The first time was surprising, the second amusing, the third akward, and the fourth and the fifth... My personal rating - 7.5. This is still one of the most talented British acts of the year, they just need to get away from a scripted performance and ROCK!!
