Tonight Karachi was a witness to the First ever international rock concert with the arrival of Bryan Adams to the Arabian Country Club, a location on the outskirts of Karachi. The city was abuzz with the upcoming concert for quite sometime, the only concerns were regarding the steep ticket price and security.
The organizers Zindagi Trust an non-profit NGO lead by a local pop icon Shahzad Roy pulled the trick out of the hat. Security was iron clad tight and only were you permitted into the venue after you had been thoroughly screened, with a number of screening locations one barely had to wait a brief 3 minutes before finally entering the massive venue.
The show started as promised around 7:30 and Bryan Adams came a brief half hour later and the massive 13,000 strong crowd got into high gear. Bryan Adams rocked the house with his truly inspirational vocals keeping the massive crowd captivated to every beat, the crowd Karaoke every song along with Mr. Adams and a few hours later was greeted with a fascinating display of fireworks to bid farewell.
Concerts are held around the world but for a concert of this magnitude for the first time ever in Pakistan, everyone held his breath as even a minor hiccup would send us back into the stone-age. This concert will the setting stage for more to come, and if organizations like Zindagi Trust remain at the helm of affairs sparing no expense to set an example for the next to follow, we wont be disappointed.
For tonight, Karachi Rocked in unison — Love you Karachi

The times have changed. Bangladesh got George Harrison and other luminaries. Pakistan gets fucking Bryan Adams? I blame Bono.

hey, better Bryan Adams than, say, Creed.
3 - DJRadiohead
Distinction without a difference?

i'd rather listen to Adams. at least he sounds like he's having fun.

You're right. Bryan Adams is much less harmful than Creed.

I blame Canada

DJRadiohead who the fuck do you think you are. You should be grateful Bryan wanted to come to Pakistan at all... I dont see anyone else banging down the door to play in Pakistan. He's a rock god and it was no doubt the best gig the country has ever seen. The guy is raising so much money to rebuild schools and help improve peoples lives. What are you doing? Blame Bono all you want but get off your arse and do something about it. I doubt you've done as much as Bryan to help Pakistan so give the guy a break.

Wow, Steve... I suggest valium. That was a little on the harsh and confrontational side.
God bless Bryan Adams for doing a fund raising show. That was very kind and generous of him. My original comment made reference to the fact so few artists of any note have come to Pakistan's aid. Bryan Adams should be commended for that.
He's a rock god
Not even close, brother. Not even close. He's a mostly inoffensive, vetran artist of modest abilities.
it was no doubt the best gig the country has ever seen
Then we should get some decent artists to go to Pakistan, show them real rock and roll, and help raise some money for those who are suffering.

Hi guys, i went to the concert , it was kickass, bryan simply rocked. I think people would now even pay twice to see him again. There was top class chemistry between bryan and the crowd. It was very touching when he said "We should have performed here earlier". Bryan has always big a big icon in Pakistan as was evident from the fact that crowd sang every song with him. Although the crowd was too tired standing for four hours but they kept yelling "We want more". Bryan also added " i will never forget this evening" and i bet he meant it while the crowd sighed the same. God bless byran, Pakistan and everone.

Pakistan is a safe and peaceful country though it has been hit by a number of terrorist attacks in the last few years and that damages the perception of people abroad, since they only follow the news. I would like to thank Bryan Adams for helping us in our earthquake relief effort.

I went to the concert too. I think it's pretty lame of all those people who are critisizing the mega event held here in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi which has been rather known for violent activities. Karachi has been a victim of violence and entertainment thirsty people like us have suffered long but I guess it's time when we all appreciate the fact that we are taking our back in the "global village".
I happen to be a BIG BIG Roxette fan. I would love for them to come here and play here even though the chances are slim but I guess after Bryan's appearence many other artists like U2 and BON JOVI might make their way to the city of lights, the city which never sleeps and really is a big fan of music.
Let us all stop acting like children and appreciate Mr. Adams for coming here all the way to Canada for a very noble cause!
Go Bryan Go!

Hey.. I m from India...it was amazing for Bryan Adams to visit Pakistan. The man is a jem. He would play infront of 13000 and 1300.. his music is for his fans and not critics. He doesnt talk big, he never wins big shot music awards or get nominated for noble prizes.. but that doesnt mean he is aint good as Bono.
Its only when U2 claimed its popularity back in US.. thats when Bono's efforts got noticed..
and this is with reference to DJradiohead who says Bryan Adams is nowhere close being a rock god....
i dont know if ur tiny brain would understand what i m going to say... but here it goes
If u look through the eyes of billboard and rollingstone magazines.. or probably thru American music windows.. u would say ya Bryan Adams a modest talent artist...
but my friend take a good hard look at the choice ur making.. cos its strictly in context to Bryan Adams popularity in US.. which i admit is miniscule compared to the Bruce Springsteens Bon Jovis and Billy Joels..
But how many times Bruce Springsteen or Bon Jovi go and play at places other than where their albums r plats.. they only play at high profile places. Bryan Adams played at Vietnam, Germany at a time when no white face would even think of going.
I have seen that American critics have been very harsh on Bryan Adams.. he is highly underrated..
while someone like Bruce Springsteen who sings nothing but about America.. for him any calamity is a chance to bring out an album based on it..
But Bruce Springsteen has talent.. but he is also overrated..
Listen to Born to run by Bruce and listen to Run to you by Bryan Adams.. and tell me which ones rocks and which one just seems like a good song.
U seem to be a Radiohead fan.. let me ask u.. how many people even know such a band exists?
Has it ever toured any place outside Europe or North America.
The bottom line is Bryan Adams critics expected his music to go their way... while Bryan Adams dug out his own style.. his own way.. his own albums.. he brought love, attitude, fun and excitment with his music world over.
Yes i agree Bryan Adams is no Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd or Paul Mcartney.. but how many are.??
Bryan Adams is a man for his fans.. u go to his concerts n u will come to know.. the value of money he gives u. I have been to Sting's concert also.. in India.. 30,000 people came.. but they just stood their hardly rocking the way people do in a Bryan Adams concert.
He might never make it in the lines of Nirvana, Guns& Roses, Rolling Stones.. but the man rocks.. no one can take tat credit from it.
Its music my friend.. its about music.. doesnt matter if ur albums r no1 or ur considered to be a rock god.. what matters is.. u go out infront of million people play music and see them love it.
God bless u.

Bryan Adams Is A truely terrible singer/guitar player. He is not a very good song writer at all. But It is good he is doing things to benefit other people.
