Yeah Ripper is awesome in Iced Earth, he seems to fit that band far better than when in JP. As far as Blaze, he was good in Wolfsbane and has never been any good since.
I still listen to the last Maiden album and I listening to JP quite a bit. However, Lochness is lyrically dire.

Having now heard the album, I have to ask this.... Does anyone else notice the similarity between the melody of "Lochness" and Dusty Springfields 1969 hit "Windmills of your mind"?

This album is a piece of shit. The band should be ashamed.

Lol, Tim Hall, no that did not strike me the several times I listened it. I just laugh at the twee lyrics.

Actually, the more I listen to the album, the more I like "Lochness". Sort of a weird cross between Black Sabbath and The Darkness. I can imagine Ozzy singing it.
It's completely unlike Priest, though, which is why so many reviewers hate it.

I often wonder if critics actually care to listen to the music a few times before commenting, and it seems that is again the case.
Judas priest' new album while is not has good has some of the older stuff say victims of changes. Is still a nice bit of music, 4 songs are actually rather good, and are very enjoying!! - My problem with this album is that of late priest are trying to sound to "modern" and in doing so weaken there own personal style. many people now a days accustom to this new style that priest for a time was somewhat clearly copying, but many of these new modern songs in general - not just priest - sound to much alike and often drown out the music as a whole.
However with the return of Halford this is for sure a step in the right direction. As for song lyrics not making sense, sometimes songs and works or art are not meant to make sense in themselves, rather we come to make sense of them, and embrace a “flow” " what do you think a ongoing drum roll is for… musical flow!. not all songs and poems make sense yet they are good works.
the guiters are quite impressive... and if you like your heavy electric this is clearly for you!! there is a sense of megadeath feel to the ablum. and one of there songs starts of a bilt like what could be modern AC/DC song.
In closing the comments about the new album lyrics being cheese seems to pop up allot. We duh, that’s part of Judas priests charm, so is Queen a bit cheesy, millions would still love them however and see the class within the music.
Good ablum room for improvement!!

Not a bad album, of course, I believe their best was "sad Wings of Destiny" and "Stained Glass"......yet back then these weren't given too much attention, even though if you buy them (go ahead, you won't be sorry) you will realise how amazing they are, possibly their best....
In any case, they just got back together, and this album is like aclimatising them to being back, and so the next album will really be a good one I believe, and should see them being more relaxed and not worrying about trying to please and attract nu-metal fans with more modern stuff. When JudasPriest calm down, and trust the ability for fans to accept great music when they hear it, and they get over their possible fear of aging and having to keep up with the times, then they will rock ho they do best, and realise they aren't past it, and that new fans will listen how good classic rock is and then bin their nu-metal shit, and realise what rock and metal really is and then hopefully reject nu-metal and realise they have ben conned and force fed a diet of drivel by record compannies and promoters targetting youngster to make money off them.....and then hopefully modern nu-metal bands will be forced into unemployment and the rest of society stops praising talentless modern 'rockers' who have short pikey hair, play one chord, and bend over their guitars shouting like they think it's cool....nu-metal is for fakes, and people with no musical ability or taste.

Judas Priest is my favorite band and I absolutely love their new album AOR.
But what's with this Metallica hate from some of you? It has now become fashionable among so-called metal fans to say things like "I used to be a Metallica fan until Black album", "Craptalica", "Sellouts"!
Once bitten, always bitten! Go back and listen to And Justice For All. Even the mighty Priest can't ape it.
...And thank God the Priest is back!

I doubt that Metallica would have become the sensations that they were, had ...And Justice For All been their first or second album. It doesn't give me the same rush as any of the first three. Since the, I've enjoyed the Black Album, but that's pretty much it. They have disappointed me and I never, ever would have guessed that they could have, back in the mid-80s when they ruled my metal universe.

Trust me I have banged to RTL and MOP a million times.
But AJFA is different...the entire album sounds like one single piece. It does well even without the bass.
If you get in sync with the music, you won't want even the lengthy songs to end. It has a kind of hypnotizing effect.
JMHO.
