Jimmy Wayne — whose song “Do You Believe Me Now” runs the radio waves — was named the “Hot Guy of the Month” by People Magazine. Jimmy is the first of few guys in the world to get the honor. The special country issue is available until September 8th, over 1 million copies are in print.
Jimmy’s reaction was humble when he heard the big news. "It's a bit embarrassing,” Wayne admitted, “However I'm very fortunate to have an amazing bunch of female fans and I'm very thankful for them." The fans have gone a bit … too far. Wayne reported that mothers have tried to set their daughters up with him. He goes into this in detail as well as discuss his ideal woman and day off in this special country issue.
This was not the first looks award Jimmy Wayne won. In 2003, he won the title of one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Singers.” In the past, Pierce Brosnan and George Clooney have won the title for “Sexiest Man.”
Jimmy’s new album , Do You Believe Me Now?, hits stores August 26th. The CD is already doing well. “Do You Believe Me Now” dominates country stations around the United States. The single is number 7 on the USA Today/ Mediabase Country Chart. It’s also number 8 on Billboard/RR.
He said about his record, “It’s definitely a change. The record that I put together only has two ballads on it and that’s it. Everything else is up-tempo. I spent three years trying to find these songs that just really set me apart.”
Jimmy doesn’t let fame or these awards go to his head. On his fridge is a quote by Horace Greeley, "Fame is a vapor, popularity an accident, and riches take wings. Only one thing endures and that is character."
Congratulations, Jimmy. Keep on bringing home awards and record a great album for us.
