Jim Morrison at 60 - Still Dead - Comments Page 5

Jim Morrison of the Doors would have been 60 today - for some reason that just staggers me. Since he only lived to be 27, he has been dead six years longer than he was alive. 27 just seems preposterously young to me - I have t-shirts older than 27. How hard would you have to try to drink yourself to death by 27? Really, really hard.…

Hi ... I never was a fan of "The Doors," even in the very beginning. Yeah, I'm that old. Kathleen Riddell, a Morrison scholar, just posted an item on grubstreet.ca, about TIM, which is 3 July '07, in Paris. It's attracted a lot of attention. Still, I'm not sure I get Morrison. Riddell has two other Morrison posting on grubstreet.ca

Again, these items get a lot of attention, but I just can't get it. In this one case, it ain't my age. Must be my mind.

Keep posting, and I'll get it, eventually, I hope. Seems I'm missing something big.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

I dont think he's really dead.when his girlfriend was questioned her stories kept changing.at first she said that he was not dead but sick and at a hospital.then she said he snorted heroine.there are no autopsy pictures.and no one can confirm seeing his body except his girlfriend.also when a bandmate saw his gravesite he remarked that the tomb was way too short.

There were also many sightings of him after he was claimed to be dead and a bandmate said that if anyone could pull off faking their own death it would be him

i think the monkeys were just corparol sellouts to record companys and there movie head was just another way to market the sixties.but morrisson was a very good singer and stage performer and very enthusiastic with his compositions. densmore is a very smooth and easy drummer. but i think that his wife slipped him a drug PERSCRIPTION DRUG FOR MORRISSONS DEPRESSION and let him die in his bathtub.R.i.p JIM MORRISON

i think morrison was a very unique musician. how i judge morrison is on the way he does his thing. i don't know why peopole bash these legends on what they did personally. they do the same thing to legends like syd barrett and jimi hendrix. the media does the same thing. i think morrisson led a good rock n roll life and problably gave the men in veitnam something good to listen to. REST IN PEACE LIZARD KING.

Yeah I totally agree with dosgamer1. Jim lived his life like a rockstar and he gave the world some amazing tunes. He's also influenced a ton of different bands, but one that really stands out for me is Program the Dead. They did a cover of "Hello I Love You" that is incredible. Check them out www.myspace.com/programthedead R.I.P. Jim. Rock on

Do you guys realize what tools you are fighting on a blog. Thats what is wonderful about being your own person you can like what you want and so can the next person. I love the doors but don't like other bands but I would certainly not get on a blog about that band just to rip on them. Didn't your mothers ever teach you if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all
