New Bohemians' keyboardist shot dead
Jeff Albrecht, the keyboardist from Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians was shot dead in Dallas, Texas. The shooting took place on Monday morning after Albrecht reportedly tried to kick in the door of his girlfriend's neighbor. Reportedly, the neighbor thought that a burglar was trying to break into her house and fired a shot through the door. Albrecht was declared dead at the scene. Albrecht was 34.
At&T to launch parental control service
AT&T is launching a new parental control service that will allow parents to set limits on talk time and text messages, control when and from whom a mobile phone can receive calls and to set a limit downloads and ringtones. The service, which is being offered starting today, is called Smart Limits. The service is being offered as an add-on and will cost subscribers an extra $4.99 a month per each line.
Google Mobile phones rumor fueled by patent
Google has applied for a patent for a mobile payment system which has fueled rumors that Google may be considering launching a mobile phone service. The patent is for an application that will allow users to pay for things via text message. The service, which is being called "GPay" would allow users to said a text message to Google who would pay a retailer and charge the user.
