Google has announced that it will open the Japanese language version of Gmail to anyone who would like to sign up for it. This makes Japan the third place the Gmail has become open access, following Australia and New Zealand. Gmail is available in 40 languages and is typically only available by invitation from existing users.
Singer Beck is calling on fans to design the cover of his upcoming album The Information. The album will be released with a blank cover and one of four sticker sets allowing fans to design their own cover. Covers can then be sent into a contest to decide which is best with Beck as the judge. The Information is due out October 2nd.
Sony offers games at Tokyo show
Sony has announced that it will offer 27 playable games for its PlayStation 3 at the Games show at next month’s Tokyo Games Show to be held from September 22-24. This is up from the 13 it offered in May at Los Angeles’ Electronic Entertainment Expo. The PS3 is expected to be released in November.
