Jane's Addiction Headlines 2009 Lollapalooza Festival

Part of: NewsFlash

It's back to the future for Lollapalooza... almost.  What began as a traveling circus of diverse music created by Perry Farrell and headlined by his band Jane's Addiction has come full circle.  It's now a three-day festival in Chicago, Illinois but will once again be headlined by a reformed Jane's Addiction, featuring all four original members.

The 2009 Lollapalooza lineup was announced today and along with Jane's Addiction will feature Tool, Depeche Mode, the Killers,  Beastie Boys, and Kings of Leon.  Other notable acts include Ben Folds, Ben Harper, rapper Snoop Dogg, Neko Case, and Fleet Foxes.  In addition to the headline bands, a separate night club-themed tent called "Perry" will house dance and electronic music.

Scheduled for August 7-9, tickets are already onsale.  A limited number of advance tickets for the three-day festival were sold for $195.  Those unable to get in on the advance sale won't see a huge jump as regular tickets are selling for $205, the same amount they sold for last year. According to Farrell, ticket sales are already off to a good start.

"At Lollapalooza, we're selling more tickets than ever," Farrell told Reuters. "People need an even bigger excuse to escape more than ever and there is no better escape than going to a festival and just tripping and taking in music."

Is there a list as to who's playing each day? All I see is a list of all bands for all three days. I want to know all the bands playing on Sunday since I may be only able to go then. And are single day tickets available? All I saw was a page with three day ticket prices and group prices etc.
