It just occured to me that when Apple opens up the iTunes Music Store to users of Microsoft Windows, all of the new users will be attempting to connect to the same servers I do. And unlike the Mac release, when the server was overburdened for a few hours the day of the release, this could go on for days and days.
I'd better make sure I've gotten everything I really want before mid-October. Did I say mis-October? Yes, I did.
And Apple, NEWSWEEK learned, quietly informed some music insiders that it’s moved up the date for expanding its current Mac-only iTunes for the vast universe of Windows-based PCs to mid-October. Apple couldn’t be reached for comment.
Batten down the hatches, folks, they're coming!

The sooner the better from their perspective as no one else has filled the big gaping hole.
