Say it isn't so...
It has nothing to do with visual arts, but it breaks my heart to report that Ionarts lets the bad news out of the bag in reporting that the Washington National Opera's world famous leader and supreme tenor, Placido Domingo, is being considered to become the general manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

Dear Placido! Do you remember me?
Sheila Newcombe. We were together at theAcademia de la Opera in Mexico City.
I sang my debut as Annina in La Traviata in 1961.National Season. After
I returned to the usa ,in 1973 I entered the Carmelite Monastery in San Rafael Calif. When you were not long ago giving a concert in Helsinki, I wrote around 2 or 3 letters to you
but I'm sure they never reached you!
I was so close yet so far fom you. As you know our Carmelite Order is an
enclosed Order of nuns. Our Monastery is in Espoo,Finland about a half hour drive from Helsinki. I will close now..but I have wanted through the years to share with you my joy of becoming a nun after so many years of waiting..(due to family) If you are able could you send me just a word or two that you recieved this e-mail?
God Bless you always dear Placido.
My Mother died back in 1991. I do continue to sing ...every year I chant the beautiful Easter Proclamation
