“Live music is a vital force,” he said, “and once you’ve developed a taste for it, you never get over it.”
But through it all, Corritore has remained a musician first and foremost. His Rhythm Room All Stars are regulars at the club where he blows an amazing harmonica. Corritore frequently performs at blues festivals throughout the U.S. and in Europe and this year sees his latest release (Dave Riley and Bob Corritore / Travelin' The Dirt Road) up for a BMA (Blues Music Award) and a Pinetop Perkins CD he plays harmonica on has been nominated for a Grammy in the traditional blues category.
“Someone once asked me if you had to play music to love music,” he said. “To that I reply, most certainly not, but you have to play music in order to make love to it.”
And from here, no one is certain what lies ahead.
Said Corritore, “My master plan is to just go with it. I don’t know what the next opportunity will be, I don’t really think about it, I just kind of let it happen and see where it goes. One thing I do know, whatever happens, I’ll always be playing music.”
