Interview: Darius Rucker (of Hootie & the Blowfish) - Singer and Songwriter - Page 6

Part of: The NUBIANO Exchange

What about this next part: "You got to take some stances and take some chances?"

That message comes straight from the civil rights movement, you know? You got to stand up for what you believe in. I was taught that lesson my whole life.

How about: "You got to laugh and love and take all life has to give?"

People take life way too seriously. Life is short. I believe in laughing as much as I can and I think that's why my wife and I get along together so much. We love to laugh together. I believe in laughing as much as you can and being in love and living life and taking what life has to give you. I thought I had to give to everybody and not take what life had to give me. When you're out there, just go ahead and grab it.

Last but not least, "You got to live and learn so you can learn to live."

You got to go and experience life, so you can enjoy life. You got to go out and experience college and see all of the things that life has to offer. You got to live and learn and just be.

Great interview as usual, Clayton! I'm also glad he talked about "Back to Then," as I thought that was an underrated album. Hopefully he'll continue to record R&B as well as country and rock.

FYI: I wrote a "Cutout Bin" on "Back to Then" a while back.

Hi, we were part of the group at the 14th hole of the dye golf course at MAM-wanted you to know we all bought tickets to the tournament to support your charity-also we introduced this event to many of our friends who otherwise would not have come. We also raised 500lbs of food for Helping Hands in North Myrtle Beach-hope you now have the right info.
