That would be Darling Nikki, she of Prince's 1984 song, "Darling Nikki." It didn't get a whole of air play back then, especially once Tipper Gore started getting all sweaty about it. Now it's back, in a Foo Fighters version. Meanwhile, Prince has become a Jehovah's Witness, going door-to-door with The Watchtower (hey, I'd invite him in to chat!). His muses/vixens, Vanity and Apollonia, have both become born-again Christians.

Oh man, Nikki was my favorite song growing up. The remake isn't as good as the original, but it's nice to see it getting some recognition. It's so odd to think that Prince was the catalyst for all the Nikki's of the world today, although he did give a little help to Madonna, who made being Nikki so popular.

In case you're wondering, you will not find "Darling Nikki" on "One By One"...only on the "Have It All" single.

my dad used to date a woman whose daughter was living with prince. anna garica was her daughters name, aka ann fantastic... she was really sweet. i think she was a penthouse model for a while. bizarre though, for anyone who knows the west midlands,in the UK, anna was from pendeford, near wolverhampton, and ended up living at paisley park for 2 years. Vicky waiting was originally Anna Waiting, and he wrote Pink Cashmere for her... he did actually make her a pink cashmere coat.

as a fan of Prince, I highly recommend y'all Netflix 'an Evening with Kevin Smith' on DVD and pay attention to the Prince story. it is terrific and funny. It gives insight into an artist nearly as eccentric as Michael Jackson.
Am going to hop onto Kazaa Light right now and see if I can find that Darling Nikki cover. it sounds awesome.
