Hope For Haiti Now Top Selling Album at iTunes Music Store

Part of: iTunes Chart Watch

I think we can all take heart, regardless of what we thought of the performances, in seeing the Hope For Haiti Now digital album atop the albums chart.  That’s money going to help people in need on a level few of us will ever understand.  Cheers.  As for the telethon, I was underwhelmed by some of the performances.  I sent my money through another organization and skipped the digital record.  Bless all of you who sent donations, however big or small, however you sent them.

Also in the Top 10 of the albums chart is the 2010 Grammy compilation.  Can I please say again how insulting and hurtful it was seeing Taylor Swift win Album of the Year?  I didn’t like the other nominees so it’s not a case of someone getting robbed.  And I’m not sure she was the least deserving of the bunch, but she wasn’t far from it.

Let’s stay with albums where I can once again point you to insightful reviews of a couple records in the Top 10.  We have Kit O’Toole’s review of the new Corinne Bailey Rae and Holly Hughes’ review of Vampire Weekend.  Rae has also announced a North American tour.

The less said about the singles chart, the better.  I will point you towards Maddy Pumilia's review of the new CD from Lady Antebellum, whose title track is the #10 single this week.
