Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
The classic Public Enemy album. Political, challenging, thought-provoking, insane phat beats from Terminator X, senseless babble with hidden meanings from Flava Flav, and the administration of the truth from Chuck D. A must have for any true rap master!
Def Leppard - High 'N' Dry
The best album from the most important band in the history of music. Before they got progressivly slicker with Pyromania and Hysteria you will find this ultimate gem. It's raw, it rawks, and it's rawkus. When you hear "Mirror Mirror" you may see things about yourself you're not ready for. It's an honest revelation of a musical work and you will gasp at the degrees to which you will know true peace.
Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death
The double-disc magnum opus released about two weeks after Biggie's death. Full of insane hits and collabos with Bone Thugs, Jay-Z, Too Short, Mase, and a shitload of others. "Goin back to Cali" the phat bumper that always spooks you out cuz that's where he got shot. This album is simply one of the best ever hip hop albums. It is deep and large, just like Mr. Smalls.
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
The best Beasties album, where they went in a totally unexpected direction after the success of License to Ill. Everyone thought they'd be the full-on goofy frat boy partiers, and they came with this insanely experimental and groundbreaking album, with copious amounts of obscure samples and layers and layers of cranium cracking rhymes, wherein no rules were exhibited. Shadnaq, Meshack, Abednigo.
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
This is a concept album about a guy that gets his brain carved out of his skull and then they let him bounce around inside a padded cell like a raving lunatic. oh wait, that's just the cover. Iron Maiden's 4th album doesn't get the props of Number of the Beast, but it may be a deeper and more richter scale leaping effort. "flight of Icarus", "The Trooper", I mean, how can you go wrong? Maiden when they were still the Bombay Bombardiers, at the peak of their prowess, going to unknown realms.
