“No Exit” was a play written by Sartre that detailed a fundamental concept of
Existentialism. The hell you heard about is simply other people. The good news is you really don't need to know what I just said and we all know anything created by the French shouldn't be taken seriously. Hell is other people is the name of the new album by a band called Fairmont. And fortunately for all of us listening to their latest CD isn't like taking a trip through hell.
The album is distinct in its approach than most of the albums out there today. It reminds me of The Wallflowers and Green Day with some edge put back on. There is some outstanding guitar work on this album most notably on “An Introduction” and “Hypochondriac”. The rhythms are quick and catchy, and there are no fluff lyrics to speak of. So you can lose your fear of listening to another shitty emo band here.
We here at The Brandon Show give "Hell is other people" a four out of five and recommend it for those of you looking to listen to something new.
