Guns N' Roses Plot World Tour, Announce 13 Dates in Canada

Part of: NewsFlash

If there was anything less likely than Guns N' Roses' mythical album Chinese Democracy ever seeing light of day, it had to be the getting Axl out on the road in support of it.  Once again confounding expectations, GnR is prepping a North American tour but in their contrarian fashion have announced only 13 dates... all in Canada.

Press releases announcing this initial run of dates claim these are part of a planned world tour, with rumored dates in Asia in December already circulating.  So far the only confirmed dates are these in Canada, with Live Nation and Ticketmaster both having listings for some of the shows.  Of course long-suffering fans know Axl has planned tours before and "changed his mind" somewhere in the middle, so even these 13 dates are only as certain as the commitment of Axl Rose.

Ticket prices range from $49.50 to $89.50 Canadian before service charges, with the first tickets going on sale October 21.

There hasn't been an announcement of who will be joining Rose as Guns N' Roses.  There are phonebooks with fewer names than the credited musicians and producers in the liner notes of Chinese Democracy, but there are published reports the band will soon begin rehearsals for the tour.

Skipping Vancouver, huh? I wonder why...

And murph, there's no personal attack here. It is true that Axl isn't exactly the most reliable touring performer and it is true that Axl "changed his mind" before. What exactly is the personal attack?

I'm not as interested in them as I used to be, like when I saw them open for the Cult in Winnipeg, back in the late 80s. I might go or I might skip it, really on the fence for this show.

The only thing less likely is that this is the TOP MUSIC going on in the world. Seriously, major ship w/o a rudder type gig going on here. 13 Show dates and a few words about GnR and that is top music?

I just want to see if Axl can make it to all 13 shows, let alone what may get scheduled later. Make sure you've understand the return policy if you buy tickets.

i would go and see them again only if they dont go on at midnight and have 3 guitar solos like last tour. that was brutal. dont they have a curfew for concerts?

    they pay the curfew fines
yes the solos kinda slow things down but they put on an awesome show! the reason this tour is happening is, they did 8 shows in Canada in 2006 and over half sold out. Rock still lives here.
