Grog - LIVE!

Die So Fluid
B Movie Heroes
The Water Rats (Kings X)

The other night saw a cracking gig from at least two very cool up and coming bands. Not what you would expect to see on a cool Monday night in London, that is for sure. B Movie Heroes (http://www.bmovieheros.co.uk) are a bunch of cheeky chappies who delivered a rocking melodic punk set that had the crowd bopping from the first chord. Having never heard their stuff, the band still sucked me in and kept me interested. They have a 6 track CD out; it is worth looking for, trust me. Unusally the band has 3 front men; all but the drummer sing at least one song. The drummer is a laugh with his Tommy Lee-style drumming and Sticks. He even admitted to me he admires Ricki Rocket of Poison. I tell you, someone is going to pinch this bloke for their band soonish. BMH need to get a deal quick.

Die So Fluid, on the other hand, are a three piece led by the delectable, but oddly monickered, Grog. DSF is what happens when you take a nice young girl, put a tight black dress on her, and give her a bass. The quiet nice woman becomes rock god and promptly blows your arse away. She has more charisma than a whole mess of modern front men or women. The voice that comes out of her is just bloody amazing, ranging from sweet to an almost death metal grunt in the space of one song. This band rock like bastards and they can play as well. DSF's drummer, Drew Richards, and guitarist, Al Fletcher, ain't slackers, either. One of the amazing things is how tight this band really are, all parts coming together as one. Their latest 3 song single, 'Disconnected', really shows the bands ability and variety. The title track is catchy as stink and should get them signed to a big label. I hope there were some A&R types in the house that night. This lot deserve to be huge and Grog a bloody star. Every guy will want her, and every women will want to be there. If you get a chance, go see Die So Fluid so you can say you were there at the beginning. So, come on guys, pull your Popidol loving fingers out and give this lot a contract!

2002 6 track mini album (7 if you count the hidden track) from Brit Rockers formed from the still smoldering ashes of the YOYO's. This is their second release and an excellent slice of melodic, hook-laden rock. ...

Drew is the guitarist, and Al the drummer, not the other way around. Glad you liked the show, and nice to see some people are recognising the talents of DSF at last.
