Their effects were nothing short of spectacular. From the many fire spouting pipes around the edge of the stage to the bubble machines that filled the stadium with bubbles that flashed in the dark sky, illuminated by spotlights like a billion fireflys and finally the awesome fireworks show that ended the concert. Luckily the stadium was full because I believe the cost of putting on that show must be huge.
The band kept the audience involved by challenging one side of the stadium to cheer louder than the other and to do the "wave" and such. They pulled two kids onto the stage and gave them water cannons to squirt into the mosh pit area to cool down their felow fans. Then, later they recruited three members of the audience to come on stage and take over the band's instruments for a rendition of the song ``Knowledge".
They dedicated the song "When September Ends" to the victims of hurricane Katrina. They will be performing at a benifit for those victims on September 10th. And during one of their 3 or 4 encore's they performed the Queen song "We Are The Champions" and it gave me a good feeling, a positive feeling that just maybe there might still be hope for some of us in this crazy world .

I really wish I'd seen them a few years ago before this rock opera bullshit.
I love their old songs, but they only play a few of them now like the biggest hits from Dookie.
That is all.

Green day is a kickass live band, they keep you guys invovled... i went to the one in NJ. It was the best thing i did the whole summer!

I went to the foxboro show and I thought it was the best concert I've ever been. For those that think that hating a band because they put out a masterpeice should be happy that they can actually do something more than a few memorable songs.

I had the chance to see them August 10th in Rosemont, IL, the concert that kicked off their spring tour. It was so awesome, and I didn't except it to be that great. they really got the crowd invovled. I have a wholoe new found respect for them.

I love Green Day, they're one of my favorite bands, and they're incredible live. I was rather disappointed going to the Gillette show, simply because I hadn't gotten what I had paid 50$ for. This is not an insult at all to Green Day, but rather to the stadium. It turned out that the general admission tickets I had paid for, were only good for the first 4,000 people to arrive at the show. All in all, my friends and I were stuck behind a gate, that was about like a mile away.
Don't get me wrong, no matter what seats I had, Green Day kicks ass live.

I WENT TO THAT SHOW!! I WAS RIGHT IN THE FRONT!!! i also went to another one of there concerts on april 28th....it rocked!! i collected sooooo much confetti!! and i was like 5 feet away from billie joe! and he shook his head and sweat came off and landed on me!

I heard that a girl passed out at Gilette Stadium, and she actually met Green Day...
I went to their concert Aug. 19th at houston, it freakin rocked! If I was a tad older and I was at the front of the crowd when they asked for volunteers to go up and play... I would've screamed as loud as my lungs could let me just to go up stage and play the bass or guitar....

One more thing... Why is Green Day getting recongnized for their hardwork NOW? I mean, they've always been a freakin awesome band, but why see them amazing NOW? Green Day's been around 16 years and now they're the biggest band ever...

I went to that concert! I'm a new Green Day fan and it was my first Green Day concert ever! I was not disappointed at all! It was all I expected it to be and much much much more! They rocked, and I have to agree the energy is amazing! Ever since American idiot came out I've been working my @$$ off to buy their other CDs I have 6 now and ALL of them I'm in love with! Anyway, Green Day is the best band in the F**KING WORLD and I'm extremely sorry i wasn't a fan sooner! If somehow Green Day reads this I say to them, Keep on rockin! I'm only 12 and I plan to go to MANY more of your concerts!! I love all your stuff old and new!!
Signed,
A loyal and devoted fan!
Nina!!! ^_^

WOW! I went to the Gilette show and it was AMAZING!As usual Green Day kicked some A$$. The only problem i had was the sound in the stadium. From where i was the Bass was up WAYYYY to loud for the opening acts, but don't get me wrong, I love them and I can't wait to go to their next tour when their new album comes out.

dudes, i went to the Gillette stadium show and it was kickass, i held up the drummer kid who played with green day for knowledge, and it was great, it was my second green day concert and by far the best! !!
20 - Bob A. Booey
Melissa's story is one of the best, funniest rock concert stories I've ever heard.
That is all.

In reference to An Angry Guy's post...
Yeah, same thing happened to me. Only the first 4,000 people were allowed past that gate or whatever. So i was RIGHT behind the gate and it really wasn't that bad. But it still sucked that i couldn't be closer. I'm sorry that you were like a mile away although i'm sure that's an exaggeration. Haha.
22 - Jessica
Oh, and to Alex Honkana...I was like 2 feet a way from you then. Haha. I was pretty damn close to that kid. Too bad i'm not a drummer. I could have done guitar or bass, but he didn't look in that direction when choosing those parts.
23 - The Angry Fan
It sucked how I was like far away, but Green Day is always great live, i still had a blast.
