Rollins would throttle Danzig, by the way. Danzig's current physical appearance leads me to believe he's been ringing the Taco Bell a few too many times. Back in the day, he might have stood a chance. But I'm taking the "liar."

Danzig would destroy Henry even today. The guy has trained in Muay Thai kickboxing and is a certified Jeet Kune Do instructor (the martial art Bruce Lee developed). But I'll concede that Rollins would win in a brow-furrowing compietion.

Actually, they're friends. You'll never see them fight. My brother and I briefly talked to Glenn after one of his concerts about 5 years ago. Knowing they are friends, my brother asked him about Henry Rollins. Glenn said he had spoken to Henry a few days before that and that they stay in regular contact. Although Glenn and Henry's music contain lyrics about violence and hardship in life, they are not stupid enough to destroy themselves with violence, which I'm sure you're aware of. Their music is about what they see around them in society. Glenn writes about the impact of religion and the herd mentality, while Henry looks at the impact society takes peoples' emotions and actions.

Henry Rollins has my money all the way. But I have to agree with Jim on this one their violence is an outward expression of what they see in the world. Jeet kune Do instructor my ass, there are only a handful of legitimate JKD instructors in the world less than a dozen that exist that actually trained with anyone even remotely tied to Bruce Lee. Don't believe the entertainment hype on that one. Danzig weighs all of 160 lbs wet, I say my wife could take him. Rollins has the make-up of a UFC fighter, killer instinct. What I would like to see is Danzig and Rollins beat someone like Simon LeBon of Duran Duran that way we would not have to see a comeback.

This is awesome! My hubby ans I have often wondered what the outcome would be btw Glen and Henry. There's actually a PS2 game out there called "Def Jam: fight for New York" or something like that and it has a Rollins character in it. We had to take the game back to Blockbuster before we completed the Glen character. It would have been hilarious to play that out.

There are plenty of JKD instructors out there. Before Bruce Lee died he gave three people permission to teach JKD, James Lee (deceased), Taky Kimura (who doesn't teach), and Dan Inosanto, who runs the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts in Marina Del Rey. Dan Inosanto has certified a few dozen JKD instructors. I doubt Danzig is one of them though. This is easy to verify. Just go to http://inosanto.com/wrapper.php?file=instructorlist.php and look at the directory.
You can't tell who'd win a fight by looking at them. I've known very skilled, but old and not well conditioned guys, who could kill bigger, stronger, and even faster guys half their age, simply because they were far more experienced and skilled. And all this talk about who's "angrier" or "more psycho" having anything to do with winning is pure stupidity. Getting pissed doesn't help nearly as much as keeping a cool head.

i find it funny that everyone is tring to size this up like a boxing match. anyone who has ever been in a bar fight or a street fight knows that it will rarley last more then 2 or 3 punches. a persons build or size or age really does not have much to to do with it, unless there is a major difference. most fights come down to one thing....WHO GETS THE FIRST GOOD PUNCH IN. thats why i say....DO ONTO OTHERS BEFORE THEY DO ONTO YOU.....LOL.....if i had to pick one, i would go for henry. just for the simple fact that glenn seems dark and gothic but henry seems like he might have to issues that he might like to work out on someones face..lol

There is an old (late 80's early 90's) article with Henry Rollins someplace (Thrasher magazine???) and Henry was asked about his days in black flag and touring with the misfits and stuff. Rollins sucks. I saw Rollins live and I heard him on record; he sucks. He can't sing. His movies suck. His spoken word sucks. Danzig is more influential. He's a better singer(better than most) and he's more intelligent (look at his lyrical content compared to Rollins, trust me I have a degree in english) IN a fist fight, who knows, danzig is aging. But Rollins is a hack.

First of all,
this is is stupid but interesting.
Seen 'em both up close and they are really about the same as far as being short (both about Mike Ness's hight).
Danzig is thicker but he's also carrying some extra weight but jesus he's in his 50's give the guy a break.
Rollins is in good shape but has lost most of his mass in the last few years witch makes him a short skinny guy.
As far as the fight in Arizona goes, would you swing first if you had as much to lose (ala getting your ass sued off buy some hack bar band)?
So in the end, if it came down to it, I say if Danzig swung first and coneected than him all the way. If it went the distance, well, Hanks in better shape but I still say Danzig

This is in terms of fist fighting, and not musical and/or creative talent:
Danzig may be at a "disadvantage" because he is in his 50's. However, he was born in '55 and Rollins was born in '61. That difference is insignificant. Regardless of what martial arts Danzig is trained in, Rollins would win the fight. Rollins talks about a lot of fights in "Get in the Van", but the guy who pointed out that whoever makes the first good punch is probably right. My money's still on Rollins.
