Gig Review: Motorhead 30th Anniversary

Didn't get to see Girlschool open the show but considering how good they were the last time I saw them I am sure they put on a great show. Next up were that venerable group of British metallers Saxon delivering a crowd favourite set of their classics. It was fist in the air sing-along heavy rock at its best. Denim & leather were everywhere. Finally the anniversary lads were on for all of us to enjoy. Motorhead don't do stagesets or fancy lights, the do heads down metal played fast and loud. Well except for a bomber shaped light rig that was wheeled out during the song Bomber. Unlike some of the previous anniversary shows there were no special guests and no gimmicks. It was straight Motorhead, straight and true. As you expect all their "hits" were there including a cracking version of 'Ace of Spades'. In short: Motorhead were exactly like you would expect them to be. Lets hope Lemmy & Co are going for another 30 years. As the black clad hordes went off into the London night content with their heroes pass holders like myself retired upstairs for a post gig party to take us until well after midnight.

Yeah, me and my mate were at the show, middle of the stage opposite Lemmy about 3rd row ... top show ... all out action compared to Motley Crue who I saw Sunday night ... was the singer from Girlschool singing on one of the tracks though?
