Five Times August - "Giving It All To You"

Part of: Sun Studio Sessions

One of Brad Skistimas' (who performs as Five Times August because people had trouble pronouncing his last name) early records was titled Audience of Zero.  Five years later that title would be far from accurate in describing the number of people hearing Brad's music. Beyond large numbers of MySpace and Facebook friends, scores of people are seeing Brad up close and personal across the country. He is a touring machine and has been willing to play anywhere to reach his fans. They've returned that favor by supporting him through massive downloads of his songs and now Brad is reaching bigger audiences. Having just played some large venues with Dashboard Confessional, Five Times August is set for a slate of shows with platinum artists Augustana. In today's webisode, in addition to performing a song Brad discusses his guitar heroes. Brad explains that "A lot of people have the same influences playing guitar like Eric Claption and Stevie Ray Vaughn. But, my influences were much more so Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. Tim Reynolds was an influence as well. When he did an acoustic cd with Dave Matthews...I was like wow that's two guys on acoustic guitar and iit sounds so full. That had a huge effect on how I played and how I took that style and kind of made it my own and tried to take two guitars and put it into one..."Brad recently joined those big names in earning praise from GuitarPlayer.com who describe his music as "smart pop rock with cool guitar."  In "Giving It All To You" Brad also shows that he is not afraid to express some emotion in a love song.  Check it out below and as always, let us know what you think:
