Firebird still burns bright

Firebird
(SPV)

What happens when the guitarist for Napalm Death and Carcass goes all bluesy? Something that is damn good results, truth be told. This 10 track is good bluesy rock ala Bad Company and Free. Bill Steer is the name of the man behind the band; he does both guitars and vocals on this CD. It's more groovy than Austin Powers but still keeps you paying attention. Laid-back tracks like 'Station' meld well with tracks such as 'Stone Believed' and 'Hard Hearted'. This is by far Steer's best work to date and hopefully will see the band go to new heights. The band's debut got rave reviews by Kerrang!, Classic Rock, and Metal Hammer, as well doing sellout gigs in Japan. This latest effort is even better than the debut, make of that what you will. Who needs the Black Crowes when you have music this good to groove on.
