Since 1999, Europe has had the joy of listening to Atomic Kitten, where they've had a number of #1 singles and a #1 album. 2 babies, one new member, and 2 UK albums later, we here in the U.S. can finally enjoy their music with their US debut self-titled album. Yes I know they don't write their own music but who cares, sometimes music just needs to be listened to just for the sake of enjoyment. Unlike other artists out there currently, they aren't out there trying to prove themselves to be legitimate (like some other pop stars) nor are they trying to sing the world's problems away, rather they're just out there having fun and it's wonderful.
The US album contains some songs from their first UK release, Right Now, and some songs from their second UK release, Feel So Good. It's one of those rare albums where I can listen to almost (would be the entire album except for the title track of the 1st album, Right Now - which is aweful in my opinion) the whole album without skipping a track. How can you possibly go wrong with covering songs such as Eternal Flame (originally by the Bangles), and Tide Is High (originally by Blondie)? Other key tracks are It's OK, Love Doesn't Have To Hurt, Feels So Good, Love Doesn't Have To Hurt, Whole Again, and Last Goodbye.
They will also be featured on the Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack with Tide Is High, which I hope will provide them with some much deserved exposure.
Anyway, if you're looking for something that's fun and not to be taken entirely seriously, you should definitely pick up this album.
