One could be excused for knowing Nebraska only through the lyrics of C.W. McCall’s “Convoy”. For many years I though the only culture the place could produce was Corn Huskers football. Then the band 311 broke into the big time. I still thought the only decent thing from there, well besides bread, was football. But now Nebraska can be excused for unleashing that vile 311 band on the world. From Omaha comes The Faint. They’ve been together since 1994 and are starting to really show some promise. Fuel TV has featured quite a bit of their music on some of their skating shows. This punk marries a synthesizer nerd music does have an extreme sports soundtrack vibe to it. If you're a fan of early 80's British dance rock or the current Interpol you should give them a try. Their latest CD is titled Wet From Birth and it features 10 tracks. “I Disappear” is the single and it can be downloaded from their web site. Once you hear it, you’ll want to pick up all 3 of their CD’s.
