It's comparable to black people who only date white people, subconsciously because it makes them feel better about themselves. Except in that case, there is a possibility that the person simply finds white people more attractive. There are many white people who find certain other races more attractive than others. But in this case, we're talking about sexuality — something that has absolutely nothing to do with someone's physical appearance (well unless you count really nice shoes and gelled hair). There is no logical reason why a gay man would prefer a straight man over a gay one, other than some sort of inferiority complex.
And I can't say that I'm not part of the problem. I'm affected by the media and society just as much as anyone else. Even the gay press, which is supposed to have progress in the gay community at heart more than anyone else, is guilty of pushing the straight worship. Just look at popular magazines The Advocate and Out. I can't count how many times, month after month, I've picked up the magazine, and there was yet another attractive straight man gratuitously on the cover, begging for expendable gay cash, when I've still yet to see many of the entertainment industry's out stars be on any cover of any gay magazine at all. How are gay men supposed to learn self-worth, if you keep selling the idea to them that straight is beautiful and gay is... "eh"?
But I digress. Once again I have entered the realm of overanalysis over something simple and fun — none of this is Enrique's fault and I'm not trying to blame him for any of this. But I needed to get that off my chest.
Enjoy the Enrique video, and fight the power!

I guess I'm out of it -- I hadn't realized Rufus Wainwright was gay. Am I the last to find out?

Great article, I should warn you and other BC writers that U-tube has become notorius for suddenly pulling videos from use (like they did with the one you included), and I've completely stopped depending on then.
I loved the article Chris "Keep it up"

We thought it was actually mainly positive.
Iglesias is clearly there to promote a recording, but that venue is a prestigious London place to do that. The thing we commented most strongly on at Gay Market News was that he could have done the record promotion only but he chose to go much further. In doing so he was positioning his 'brand', if you will, in a way that was appropriate to the occasion and smart from a marketing standpoint.
In a world where mainstream society often sees male homosexuality as odd or 'difficult' going as far as he did means he is chooing to show respect for the space in which he found himself a guest.
I tend very strongly not to the cynical on this one, but am really quite respectful of him for doing this. - Ian Johnson.

Interesting how you choose black and gay and compare their reaction and finally said it is because they they have inferiority issues.. umm...
So when a white and straight decided to look a black girls is oohh my God... He is just totally different.. You are not getting to deep into any analysis here, better next time keep it to yourself.
