Eminem and Kimberly Mathers Re-marry

After a turbulent roller coaster relationship of marriage, separation, re-union, and divorce, Marshall Mathers III, the rapper known as Eminem and his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Mathers were once again married on Saturday in the Detroit suburb of Rochester. It was just a month ago that rapper announced in an interview on a local radio station that he and his ex-wife were back together.

Their tumultuous relationship is recorded in many of Eminem's albums, most notably the 2000 single, "Kim," released a year after their divorce and spouting rhymes of violent intent. Kim countered with a $10 million law suite, citing emotional distress. The couple soon after reconciled saying they hoped to work things out for the sake of their daughter, Hallie Jade. A divorce and bitter custody battled soon followed, however, in 2001. In the following years, both have sought treatment for addiction; Kim for cocaine, and Eminem just recently for sleeping pills.

With the past behind them, The Detroit News reports that the wedding was attended by 100 guests, including 50 Cent, Obie Trice, and members of D12 and G-Unit. The couple's daughter served as her mother's maid-of-honor and Detroit rapper, Prof, served as the Best Man. Notably absent from the wedding was the groom's estranged mother.

Details of the nuptials were kept quiet as all guests and workers associated with the event were asked to sign confidentiality agreements. Out of town reporters as well as photographers from Star and People magazine were in attendance.

reminds me of my now husband and i. we separated a few times, but we could never really break it off forever... I hope they stay together this time, and find ways to deal with eachother without putting their family through another divorce. Just a little vacation works wonders for everyone.

I thought it was a good thing for Marshall to muster the strength needed in order to re-marry Kim for Hailey's sake. I personally think that Marshall was producing an art form through "Kim" on the Marshall Mathers LP. He was not trying to "get back" at Kim for the drugs or ruined relationship. I believe his art through his lyrics is astonishingly brilliant.

Perhaps he wrote "Kim" to have the opportunity of "reading the writing on the wall" and saying in his album of the terrible domestic disputes that occur everyday. Emotions run very strong in relationships and things can spin out of control very easily in today's society. I believe this is very similar to how 2 Pac wrote about things that didn't go well with the critics at first as well.

I think that "Kim" will be appreciated over time and people will be taught that successful relationships are almost impossible to have when drugs and children are in the scene. Emotions run deep and it is important to take your frustrations and release them through creativity instead of destruction. I believe Dr. Dre understands that destruction in retaliation is the easy way. Creation of amazing music that communicates what the real situation is without a doubt the hard way. I believe this is the same for Notorious BIG, 50 Cent, D12, Snoop Dogg, Obie Trice, etc.

I would like to call myself a hard worker. I really try not to destroy in retaliation. The creativity and hard work I hear on Em's albums makes me feel like there are people out there that can work way harder than me. Personally, I find it really burns to see destruction to be the result of really hard work through creation as in the case with Notorious BIG, 2 Pac, and Proof.

It is not easy being an artist and having a normal life. This is the reason why I choose business through technology instead of being a professional artist. There are most times no specific 40 hours a week pay with a standard hourly wage unless you teach.

I hope Kim can become a better influence. A positive example is important for a parent to be a good leader. Love is dedication and is hard work defined through persistance and strength. This can be everything from owning a pet, to making an album, or raising a child. A bad influence parent can easily have a hard time commiting to the dedication of fully loving and raising a dependant such as a child. A strong leader will rarely neglect a certain need of a dependant through learning though past experiences.

I wish Marshall the best of luck with Hailey. I hope one day I can be able to be a hard worker and dedicated parent like Marshall.

Rest in peace Proof... you were an amazing artist.
