Elvis Costello, Benaroya Hall, Seattle, March 8 - Page 2

Again: for my money, one of the two or three best concerts I’ve ever attended. Get tickets and go. Now. You’ll thank me later.

In regards to your comments on New Wave music making its way back to light, you are so right. The time is now. Here in Seattle (isn't Benroya Hall a great place to see artists like Elvis Costello?) a new local record company is releasing punk/wave music from the bands that the industry ignored before the 'grunge' thing cashed in. The music from Seattle that the grungers learned from is outstanding.
Plus it will be great to hear how the established artists have evolved. The music of that era made statements. The world needs to be made aware again. It is uncanny how up to date these old bands from the scene are. Back then it was the Reagan era, now its Bush. Not much different.

I didn't much go for the North album, but I bet he could sell it much better live. Maybe I'll get a chance to find out.

    ELVIS IS KING!

I had the pleasure of seeing Elvis and Steve, along with the Brodsky Quartet, in NY a couple of weeks ago. It took me a while to get used to North when it first came out, but those songs heard live are absolutely amazing. Elvis's voice has never sounded better. If you get the chance to see him on this tour, don't hesitate to do so!
