Sir Elton to go hip-hop

Sir Elton John has said in an interview with Rolling Stone that he plans on recording a hip-hop album. He has hopes of collaborating with such artists as Kanye West, Timbaland, Snoop, and Eminem. Elton John performed “Stan” with Eminem at the Grammy awards in 2001. Elton John’s latest album will be released later this year and is titled The Captain and The Kid.

AOL unveils revamped music service

AOL Music Now, which is part of AOL’s music service, is now open to online visitors. The service has some 2.5 millions songs and videos on offer and the content can be played right in the browser so there is no need to download a separate player. The service was previously only available to AOL’s Internet subscribers, but has been made available as part of a change in AOL’s business plan, which intends to gain revenue from online advertising instead of through fees.

Lemonheads announce U.K. tour

The Lemonheads are set to embark on their first tour in ten years and have announced dates for shows in the U.K.. The band will make 12 stops in the U.K., starting in Norwich on October 5th and ending in Wolverhampton on the 22nd. The band will make stops in Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, London, and Liverpool, as well as other cities. The tour will be support of their new album, The Lemonheads, due out September 25th.
