Supreme Court to hear eBay appeal. The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review a patent infringement case against eBay. In 2003 a district found that eBay’s “buy it now” feature infringed upon two patents held by MercExchange. A Federal Appeals Court ruled in favor of a permanent injunction and awarded MercExchange $25 million in damages. The Supreme Court rejects most of the petitions it receives for reviews, making this unusual.
Madonna matches Elvis for top ten singles. This week “Hung Up” Madonna’s new single jumped to no. 7 on the charts, making it her 36th top ten single. It has taken Madonna 21 and a half years to match Elvis’s record.
New inductions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will induct in 2006 Miles Davis, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blondie and The Sex Pistols. The induction ceremony will take place on March 13th and VH1 will be broadcasting the ceremony.

Thanks for the tip toward the e-bay patent case. I've been doing quite a bit of reading on intellecutal property rights lately and remember reading something about this but it had slipped off the radar.
