Emily has sent me a very distressing news piece from Reuters. It seems the Moroccan authorities jailed 14 heavy metal fans for "Satanism".
The 14 men aged between 22 and 35 years were found guilty of "possessing objects which infringe morals" and of "acts capable of undermining the faith of a Muslim.
Yet another example of what a "caring & sharing" religion Islam is. These bigots jailed the young men for one month to one
Of course, one can not be too critical of these Islamist fools, since you know damn well that Falwell & Robertson probably admire Moroccan authorities for what they have done. No doubt Tipper Gore (ex-drug addict/PMRC) and her hubby will be pleased too.
I wonder if Amnesty will take up the cause of these metal-heads? Somehow I doubt it. You have to admit it would make for a great advert campaign. A bunch of long hairs headbanging and raising a glass of beer to say: "in Morroco you can be jailed for this."

I'm a Moroccan and live in Morocco, and though it may not be Heavy Metal Paradise (not that I can think of any other small country based on a religion that is), it is not what you have made it out to be. First of all, this was the only absurd case that has ever taken place in Morocco and they had been RELEASED almost immediately. Also, it is one of the most advanced African countries and most tolerate ones and it does NOT run on conservative fanatiscm. You all have to get your info straight, especially considering the fact that this is the country that Led Zeppelin have so romantacized. Come to Marrakesh and see for yourselves, you culturally deprive MORONS.

i am half morrocain and i am a muslim (islam) and i love this religion. Yes i have been to morocco i go there every year somethings i like about it some things i dont but the most wonderful place is marakesh. thats the only reason i go (oh and to see my family) so all of u haters p**s off because morocco is 1 of the most famous countries in the whole entire world so if u dont like morocco i suggest u go to marrakesh and if u still dont like it go back next year and the year after (trust me i started to like it after 5 years)
