Doors rave about Ian

Pleased to not be talking about looming lawsuits - the two original members
of The Doors, who are back on the road with the band, have been raving about
The Cult's Ian Astbury - who has taken on the frontman position in the band.

Keyboard player Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger have told reporters
they believe he fits in well with the revived group: "I suppose there's always going to be those hardcore naysayers who believe that if it's not Jim Morrison, it's not the Doors. I don't really care what those people think. If they don't want to come to the show, they don't have to. It's not a problem. Believe me, those who have come to see us have loved it."

Of course The Doors reunion tour has been dogged by legal action by original
drummer John Densmore, who claimed he didn't given permission for them to use the band's name - and later by fill-in drummer Stewart Copeland who claimed Manzarek and Krieger had broken contract commitments to him.

I remember VH1's Storytellers with Ian Astbury, and in my opinion he stunk singing those songs. I know for a fact that it can be done though because I remember when the Doors were inducted into the rock hall and Eddie Vedder joined the original members for Break On Through, and Light My Fire (I think), and he did a great job.

Has anyone else heard Astbury with the doors?
