The Darkness continue to gain ground the States with the news that debut
album 'Permission To Land' has now gone gold, selling in excess of 500,000 copies. The band's single 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' was one of the most popular 'add tracks' in US radio last week and is currently the number two most downloaded track on legit download services like Napster and iTunes. With most of the dates on their forthcoming US tour now sold out, the band will be hoping they can maintain the momentum to start competing with the likes of Coldplay, who have now sold 3 million albums in the US.
