Crazy Horse's Billy Talbot Goes Solo

Crazy Horse's bass player, Billy Talbot has gone solo and released the CD Alive In The Spirit World. Talbot is most familiar in Neil Young's backing band Crazy Horse where he plays bass guitar.

The enhanced CD includes footage of the Billy Talbot Band performing three live songs.

Alongside Billy Talbot’s vocals and various guitars, the lead guitar for the band is handled by Rain Parade alumnus and Crazy Horse contributor Matt Piucci. The rest of the band includes Jeff Chase on bass, Stephan Junca on drums, Erik Pearson on keyboards, harmonica and guitars and Tommy Carns on guitars and banjo.

Plans are to be set for a tour this fall.

The song "Security Girl" is available for download on Billy's website.

This album has some really fantastic moments in it...the most striking thing about it is the ambiance of the recording itself, the barn the album was recorded in is evident in each cut, and Piucci's searing guitars are like a reed instrument more than a stringed one. Great stuff overall, if not a bit restrained.
