Courtney Love: "Neil Young, you're God!"

From Oh No They Didn't (via NY POST...PAGE 6) comes a rather bizarre item from the deeply troubled Courtney Love.

I hesitated to exploit her anymore than she has already been exploited. But given the actual positive, uplifting aspect to her drug addiction treatment, we went ahead and pulled the trigger on this story about how Neil Young's music helped Courtney in her darkest hours.

"Neil Young gets the credit for helping Courtney Love kick her drug habit.

"When I was in rehab, I had some really cool CDs with me," the rock widow told Steppin' Out magazine. "I had Dylan and I had R.E.M. and I had Neil Young's 'Decades.' I put on 'Decades' and I heard 'Old Man.' It was 5 in the morning and I was kicking Xanax, and it was a [bleep]ing nightmare, and I saw Neil standing above me. And I was like, 'Neil, you're God! This is great!' . . .

And that was huge. I thought, 'I can do this. I can get through this, and Neil is going to get me through' . . . It was a deeply spiritual thing. It was cool."

One can only imagine what Kurt Cobain would think?

More on Neil Young and his music.

Ms. Love certainly takes on a lot of helpers and healers, both real and imaginary. In past years, Michael Stipe and Billy Corgan seemed to be in her corner. Corgan's guidance and song writing assistance helped to produce Hole's Celebrity Skin, arguably their best album. However, Love later denied any help from Corgan (as she earlier denied that there was ever any assistance from Kurt Cobain for Live Through This, a nonetheless Nirvana-inspired album at the least).

I don't really have a point here, just spreading some Love lore...

Every time I read or see something about Courtney Love I think, "Will no-one take this stone from my shoe?"

Anyone read Carl Hiaasen's 'Basket Case'? Maybe they'll cast Love as the rock widow if they ever make a movie.

'The Needle and the Damage Done' should do the trick right there. It's about losing his closest friend(s) to heroin.

"I hit the city and I lost my band, I watched the needle take another man. Gone, gone, the damage done".

in the liner notes for Decade, Neil says this about the song "I am not a preacher, but drugs have taken a lot of great men".

    nuff said!

thanks Thrash, at least we know Courtney has eclectic and typically prety good taste - I still have a soft spot in my heart for her and hope she can get it together before it's too late

How disgusting that a man (Courtney had a sex change, there is viable proof) claimed to be married to this icon, after they (the COG cult) murdered him in 1990. Geffen (and his boyfriend Pitt, who was snogging Love too) helped "it" steal Cobain's songs and record them with her group. It is a mockery of talent and goodness. Courtney Love, your life is in ruins and soon you will be dead. As will everyone involved in the sacrafice of Kurt Cobain.

This is not Kurt Cobain's child, he had no children! Frances Bean belongs to Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt (yes, they knew each other long before they married). She is idenical to her parents, and strangly, ever whore Hollywood has ever produced. She is hideous.
Kurt had unearthly crystal colored eyes, that demon's eyes are grey just like it's real father, Brad.
Kurt Cobain was murdered in 1990, later Courtney Love (whose real mother is actually "Wendy" who falsly claims to be Cobain's mother) was paid-off to pretend to be married and have a child, all so that the Hollywood 3 could share in the reported 6 billion Nirvana has thus far grossed. Geffen was delighted by all of this, helping Courtney with her transgendering (She was once a male). The hundreds (no doubt thousands) that were and are involved in this horrid Sacrafice are paying-with their lives! Oh, how they shall pay for those crimes.
    We love you Kurt.

It is just another Cult admission of guilt, a silly one at that (there is no G-d, and no jesus, but those are the cults false idols).
Just a hyme, a crust of bread thrown on the trail of murderers...

You're on a mission, person with the weird repeated Courtney slander. Do you come in peace to our galaxy?

Live Through This was a great, classic album, probably one of the top alternative albums of all time and perhaps the best female rock album ever.

    That is all.

Bob Booey -- I only just saw this comment. I love Live Through This -- but is it greater than The Pretenders, Broken English or Horses? Nah.
