Conservative Top 40

Bruce Bartlett has compiled an attempt at a Conservative Top 40 of politically conservative pop songs since 1955, but it has been thoroughly and much more entertainingly refuted by Simon B of No Rock & Roll Fun. Interesting that skinhead punk and white supremacist metal didn't enter the discussion.

Note to conservatives: rock&roll is the devil's music; get used to it.

Looking at Bruce Bartlett's list, all I can say is anyone who holds up the drunken sot of "Sunny Afternoon" as a political spokesmodel for any ideology is definitely doing some selective listening. . .
