Concert Review: The Paid Dues Independent Hip Hop Festival - Page 2

It seems that Mur’s dues have been truly paid, as he wraps up his second major rap festival with a gift of major label signing to cap it all off. By the amount of people floating around the pavilion and the tons of merchandise on hand by vendors like HipHopDX.com, Rhymesayers, Visionaries on Up Above Records, and more, this event was a huge success that will be back next year with more independent hip-hop. Be on the lookout for Paid Dues to follow the pattern set by Rock The Bells, with DVDs and a national tour set to establish the brand nationwide!

(Quick calculations: VIP passes went for $100.00, which included free merch like tee shirts and posters, 2 drink tickets, VIP access, and a Paid Dues back pack. For the amount of backpacks I saw, it looked like the majority of the people there bought these passes. I didn't see or hear any actual numbers but I'm guessing three thousand tickets sold, minimum. Not a bad night for the Murs 3:16/Guerilla Union crew!)
