Other special moments for me (as if they all weren't), the new arrangements for "Miss You, Hate You", "A New Day Yesterday" (with "spoonful" ending — you have to hear it to know what it's all about), and "Walk In My Shadow". There was added depth and heart to the new arrangements, making old favorites seem fresh and entirely unique.
As well, Joe included "Mountain Time", one of my all time favorites. This is the song that hooked me in the beginning. It's changed a bit over the years, but it's still fantastic. I miss the great bass runs cascading over me as the song builds to its climax. However, the new version is just as rousing, eliciting goosebumps just as much now as it ever has. I just miss the multi-layered approach of yore.
By the end of the show, we were all buzzing from the power of the performance. This was definitely one of the best I'd seen. Joe never gives less than 100% on stage. It's just who he is.I was speechless after the show, a rarity for me. All I could do was thank him for a wonderful evening and for "Asking Around For You", which brought back bittersweet memories and left me somewhat wistful. No matter, I loved every moment of the evening.
My friends and I were looking forward to another night of fun the next night. Sadly, Joe gave his all during this short trip west and it was completely understandable that the show the next night was cancelled. Disappointing, yes, but understandable. What with being in Reno (with SNOW!) one day and Vegas the next few days with temps in the 100s, it would be enough to throw anyone for a loop. I'll just be looking forward the Joe Bonamassa Band's concerts in Southern California and Las Vegas in August that much more, now.
And, they'll be even better by then. You can take that to the bank!Let the countdown begin!

Hey there...nice write up. I figured it would be redundant if I wrote about the same show. My pictures are not good. Perhaps a few can be salvaged.

Now Dawn, you just have to go see Joe! No excuses. I guarantee you'll have fun.
Tara, write your review! We don't see everything the same...besides, you know as well as I do, two reviews are better than one.
