Friday night I was treated to some of the finest guitar solos I have ever heard in my life. Even drummer Vinnie Appice performed an amazing drum solo, something I thought was long lost in the new music of today. I just stared in amazement with wide eyes and open ears as Dio sang on. Their set even included a couple of the new tracks from The Dio Years which I have not heard yet but did enjoy.
Before I knew it Dio and the masters of metal took a bow and exited the stage. I felt honored being in their presence. Now I know what my father was talking about when he used to tell me how shows were when he was a kid. As my friends and I sat their while the drunken crowd made their ways back to the parking lot I realized what I great night Friday night was. Three generations of metal was just performed in front of me including Black eff'n Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio. Amazing.
