Coldplay To Give Away Live Album

Part of: NewsFlash

All right, so I gave Coldplay a good raking when they announced the ticket price for the upcoming leg of their Viva La Vida world tour.  I'm not going to retreat from that criticism, but Coldplay is once again demonstrating that they get it.  Fans attending the upcoming shows will be getting a little gift from the band:  a free live album titled LeftRightLeftRightLeft.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin divulged the plans for the freebie to British music magazine NME in February, "It's a way of saying thank you. It's a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets."

Fans not able to attend any of the band's upcoming shows will get a chance to download LeftRightLeftRightLeft for free from the band's web site on May 15.

It doesn't make me forget the insane ticket prices, but this is another mighty fan-friendly act from Coldplay.  Last year the band released their EP Prospekt's March separately and re-packaged with Viva La Vida rather than expecting fans to pay for the same album twice to get the EP, a common practice in today's music market.

Here is the complete tracklisting for LeftRightLeftRightLeft

  1. "Glass Of Water"
  2. "42"
  3. "Clocks"
  4. "Strawberry Swing"
  5. "The Hardest Part/Postcards From Far Away"
  6. "Viva La Vida"
  7. "Death Will Never Conquer"
  8. "Fix You"
  9. "Death And All His Friends"
