Chuck Berry Celebrates 80th Birthday
Rock Legend Chuck Berry celebrates his 80th birthday today. He will be celebrating his birthday with an intimate show at the Blueberry Hill’s Duck Room in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Berry is a regular performer at the venue with his daughter and son.
Brazil Protests File-sharing Lawsuits
An online petition has been started to change Brazil’s copyright laws. The petition asks that the laws be amended in order to protect Internet users from “irrational” lawsuits launched by the international music industry. The International Federation of Phonographic Industry has announced it will be filing around 8,000 new lawsuits, including, for the first time, filing suits in Brazil. The announcement of the lawsuits in Brazil has been met with protests by a coalition of groups for citizens' rights, and various legal and academic groups.
Nine Inch Nails Prepares To Release Live DVD
Nine Inch Nails has announced it is preparing to release a live DVD. The DVD will contain footage from the most recent tour the band did in support of the band’s last album, With Teeth. It will be available in Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and DVD formats. No release date has been set, but it is expected to be out early next year. The DVD is titled Beside You in Time.
