Chinese Government Introduces Efforts To Curb Piracy
The Chinese government recently announced that local computer makers must ship their computers already loaded with a licensed operating system. It has also begun efforts to make sure that all the computers used by the government are running on legitimate software. It is estimated that 90% of the software used within China is unlicensed.
Virgin Mobile Introduces Ad-Subsidized Calls
Virgin Mobile USA has announced that it will be starting a new service that will allow customers to earn free calls. Under the program customers will be able to earn up to 75 free minutes a month if they looking at ads on their phone and responding to text message ads.
Ministry To Call It Quits
Al Jourgensen of the band Ministry has said that the band will be putting out one more album and then retiring. The as yet untitled album will be the third in a trilogy attacking the Bush administration. The first two installments of the series are 2004's Houses of the Mole and 2006's Rio Grande Blood.
