Whatâs the 4-1-1?
San Diego group re-releases their 2005 EP (itâs billed as an album, but it only has 8 songs) for their new record label.
Genre
Indie rock / pop-punk / alternative
The Good
Not only are the rhythms of âWeâre Sleeping Better Nowâ infectious, but the chorus is very catchy. âBreakers & Bunsen Burnersâ employs simple repetitive riffs to create a quite memorable song. The vocals are delivered in that new-punk/emo kind of style, but they donât come off as whiney. Meaty bass lines run rough-shot over âA Brighter Greenâ. The song is a mellow inspirational track. Driving riffs dominate the urgency thatâs induced by âMayday.â Clean guitar chords and dual vocal harmonies command âWild Nights & the Aftermath.â
The Bad
Nothing notable
The Verdict
If the hooks donât grab you, than the lyrical phrases will.
