The Magnificent Seventh
Thunder
(STC)
Thunder, perenial B-list rockers and almost huge, have released yet another excellent collection of bluesy rock tunes. Not only that, but this is their best since their stunning debut, Backstreet Symphony.
I consider Symphony ... to be one of the best debut albums every released. It is an album just as good today as the day it was released. Screwed over by grunge, crap record companies and sheer bad luck, the boys continue to produce awesome hard rock with class and aplomb. On this, their seventh studio effort, you get 11 tracks of pure goodness; tracks that, unlike some of their more recent stuff, are catchy as hell from the git go.
Like their debut, almost every song on this album is memorable from the first listen. "I Love You More Than Rock'n'Roll" starts you off and its one of those tracks you are singing the chorus the second time it's sung. We have the big ballad "Together or Apart" which just soars in its majesty. The band, not showing their ages in the slighest bit, are on top form on this album. If you like Bad Company, Free and their ilk, but never heard this lot try them out.
Oh yes, if they come near you make sure to see em' live as they are one of the best bands you can ever hope to see. You will regret neither actions. I know its sounds a tad twee but Thunder's seventh effort is truly magnificent. This is absolute pure fucking rock class.
