CD review: Stretch Arm Strong's Free At Last

Free At Last
Stretch Arm Strong
(We Put Out)

Emocore is not exactly rare these days, but S.A.S. aren't one of the many sound-alikes. Most of the tracks are more tilted towards the punk rather than the metal side of things. "Faces" sounds like it could have come off any Green Day album. There is enough variety here to keep it interesting but not necessarily one to bring in new fans to the genre.

You know the drill: shouty lyrics in the front and fairly basic music in the back. "Hearts of Fire" is a pretty decent track, with a catchy chorus and some serious pogo-along vibe. That said, over the twelve tracks things can get a bit samey. However, I am sure hardcore kids will eat this stuff up. Good if you like that sort of thing.
