CD review: OZ Noy

Ha!
Oz Noiy
(Provogue)

He is a wierd looking bald guy, got a really odd name and he comes from Israel. Saying that quite a few well respect musos appear on this album including David Letterman's rythmn section, a couple Brecker Brother boys and blokes who have played with Miles Davis amoungst others. What they play is jazz rock fusion of sorts without any need for silly vocalists. Its an eclectic album that is not without its charms. This sort of music is really not for everyone, but musicians will listen and admire the virtuosity of this guitarist. This is classy background music for the musically swotty. It is enjoyable and fun to listen to, well worth your time. Recommended but only for the adventurous.
